steak and shake

looking back i have been to steak and shake three times in the past two weeks. normally this is not my favourite place of dining, but these past few trips have been quite memorable.

1. last saturday- susan, jon, jeff, and i went to steak and shake for a business meeting to discuss paper options and layout changes regarding a poster for a dutchman's voice recital. this was in and of itself a good time. our waitress looked alot like kimmy gibler.

2. last night: we saw everone at steak and shake when susan, heather and i went. we were quite dissapointed kimmy gibler wasn't our waitress, but we had dave thomas. he was a little upset that we sat ourselves, but later regained composure, and was okay. there were lots of noteworthy people, like aaron baker for example. susan wrote a note to aaron which nearly fell into the wrong hands (does anyone have a T- square?). it is important to mention here that the note was folded in a junior high fashion. susan sure has mad note folding skills. the note said things like "mrs aaron baker" "mr and mrs aaron baker" "president and mrs baker" and so on. upon reading it he turned red, and slid down the booth under the table.

3. susan and i drove down to the east side of indy to meet my brother britton and his friends who were headed to PA from kansas. they spent the weekend at a climbing competition, and are looking to arrive in PA at like 5am. crazy kids. three people in our group had never been to steak and shake before, that was a new concept to grasp. about 3/4ths through our meal the waiter dropped a glass of ice water on brittons lap. i started cracking up, because this is ironically the second time a waiter has dropped water on him (no one else knew this, and thus did not laugh) i glanced up and realized that the whole restarunt was staring at us, and i felt bad. shortly after that, britton reached across the table and one of the girls with us noticed he was bleeding, but she was eager to bandage him (with the first aid kit she had in her purse) becuse she "is going to be a nurse when she grows up!"
i drove back to marion dreaming about a fresh, hot cup of tea to clean out my greasy insides.....
no more steak and shake for a while, please!

but meredith...it's what memories are made of.

memories you won't be able to make anymore after the end of april unless there is a God and you decide to settle in the indy area for the next couple years.
